Windows 10

I cannot believe how bad Autodesk is about sketchbook pro 7 and sketchbook for windows tablets. Is this some kind of trick ?

Sketchbook pro and windows 10

Well, I took the plunge. I installed windows 10 on to my main work PC. As it turns out sketchbook pro 7 isn't really compatible with Windows 10. So now I'm forced to draw using sketchbook pro for Android. My tablet is an old galaxy note 8. For the most part its an OK alternative to using full sketchbook pro, mostly. It will have to do until Autodesk fixes the problem.

I started designs for one of the characters of my comic. "The laughing dog"

Current works

I have been spending the last month or so trying to expand my portfolio site. Its really starting to fill up with new artwork that I have been able to make thanks me getting this old used Cintiq. It has changed the way I create these pieces start to finish. Back in the old day I used to use mostly Photoshop to color in a sketch that I drew with pencil and paper. If the drawing had dark lines on it I would have to ink most of it. I used to use a mouse to do my illustrations and it was nearly impossible to have any finesse at all. Eventually I picked up a Wacom Intuos. It worked far better than a mouse for inking and coloring. The Intuos was never really any good to sketch on because of the manner of how you interface with it.

But now things have changed...

...Now I have this Cintiq. I am saving up for a newer more portable one but for now this will work. My whole drawing start to finish can be done on the same screen. I use Sketchbook Pro 7 on the Cintiq. Its like nirvana, at least to me.

I have been working on a ton of band graphics and I am hopeful that I will find more clients

I have updated the Current works section of my website to show off what I've been up to.

Check that out here ! http://www.theartblade.com/#!landscapes/ck0q

side effect

Luckily when working with digital media like the kind I use when creating my artwork, I can output many different versions of the same image. In this case I was able to make a few mash ups from the pieces I was working on for my client.

Why?

So I can have more portfolio pieces.

Here I have two different drawings Ive been working on.

And below you can see how I combined them. This is also gives the client more options when deciding what images they want to use.
