Sketches

Here's a drawing I did a while back. It's a picture of a grumpy security officer.

I drew this one on good old fashioned paper using my reliable mechanical pencil.

Half and Half

Here is a piece that I started working on it using good ol' fashioned pencil and paper. I planned to ink and paint it in Photoshop but instead I uploaded it on to my Galaxy Note 10.1 and did the coloring there.

Here's how it looked when I finished drawing and inking it on plain old printer paper. Smaller details are harder in this medium to do compared to doing it digital. The nice thing about starting a drawing out on paper is its easier to get a rough sketch look while being able to plan out how I am going to shade and color it later.

This is after I got it onto the Galaxy Note 10.1. I edited it pretty heavily and was able to use layers to break up the job into smaller images. Layers help make complicated pictures easier to make, smaller images are simpler to work on.

But wait. Theres more

Well I decided that I feel like now that Bioshock Infinite came out I have a better understanding of what Elizabeth actually looks like. The last two Bioshock pictures I made were kind of a stab in the dark. I wasn't really sure what Elizabeth looked like and how her costume was put together. I've also noticed how much she leans up against stuff in game.
This Piece also is my attempt at a new drawing style. I'm trying to get myself to rely less and less on lines. I want to get myself to treat this one like an acrylic painting and not like a pencil sketch. Which for me is pretty hard to do. Once again this is all on my Galaxy Note 10.1. Wish I had a full windows tablet to draw on...

Another thing to note about using the Galaxy Note 10.1. Its not a full on computer so it has its limits when drawing at high resolution. This image is restricted to only having 3 layers total. Three layers is just not very much. Granted, its more layers then you would get with a normal drawing or painting (which is just one layer)

Complete !!! Bioshock Infinite pieces

I was able to finish 2 pieces in anticipation for Bioshock Infinite's release. Here they are, Click and enjoy !

The First one (Top Left) was done entirely with my galaxy note 10.1. I used a mixture of Photoshop Touch and Sketchbook Pro. It took around 2 weeks of time but that was while working 40hr/week making subs. Got it at the highest resolution that Sketchbook can handle.

The Second one (bottom) was a little more time consuming. Took about 2-3 weeks. I drew the characters and the background separately in Sketchbook Pro and exported them to Photoshop for windows. Then with Photoshop I combined them to make the one layered image.
